I was recently commissioned to conduct the research needed for a leading High Net Worth publication to produce a ‘best offshore’ list for its readership.
My brief was to identify the best service providers in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man in fields such as legal, estate and tax planning, property, fiduciary services, family office, investment management etc., for HNW and UHNW.
When working for a third party and having to directly correspond with companies on their behalf you always face a hurdle…you have to get past instant suspicion.
Fortunately, having worked for many years with leading international financial service providers I was able to prove my credentials and get the required information from the vast majority of companies I identified as being suitable candidates for the list.
The information I was required to submit to the client included who would be the best point of contact at a given organisation to give a comprehensive overview of the company’s services. I needed to identify these key personnel, compile their contact information, and write a summary of why I was including each company within my recommendations for my client.
My client is now compiling their own shortlist of top contenders from my extensive list, and they will contact each company’s representative for interview before publishing their ‘best offshore’ list in the Autumn. When it’s published I’ll pop a link here.
